Abstract:
Purpose of this study was to investigate the current nature of students’ disciplinary problems
in primary schools of Nunu Kumba Woreda,East Wollega Zone,in Oromia National Region. The
research design employed in the study was descriptive survey. because it enables to conduct in
identifying the possible causes of students' disciplinary problems and common misbehavior, as
well as to find the mechanisms to solve the problems in the broad size sample of students which
involved relatively large number of respondents. Information was gathered from the respondent/
participants via questionnaire and interviews. The source of data were both primary and
secondary sources. Primary data has been collected from administrators, teachers, students and
parents teachers association. The secondary data has been collected from the school record
profiles, woreda education office and reports. The total population of the study were; 5498
students, 73 teachers, 24 administrators and 21 PTA members. Based on the above ideas in
sampling size the researcher selected 313 students, 27 teachers, 6 administrators staff and 6
PTA members. The researcher used purposive sampling techniques, because of their particular
information about the topic. The data was collected through structured questionnaires and
interviews. The data was analyzed through the descriptive techniques of quantitative and
qualitative methods with the help of percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-value and p-value.
Finally, based on analysis and interpretation the major findings, conclusion and
recommendation were drawn.
