dc.description.abstract The main aim of this study was to investigate Women’s political participation in the case of Debre Tabor city administration. the research was conducted using descriptive research methods to collect both qualitative and quantitative data. 102 sample respondent’s were selected. Sampling techniques of the study was systematic random sampling was emplayed, the method to select sample respondent of data collection was through survey method and the tools are questioners, interview and document analysis. The data obtained through questionnaire was analyzed quantitatively using descriptive, inferential statistical, regression analysis and correlations were used to analyze using SPSS, while data obtained through interview were analyzed qualitatively and the collected data was compiled into tables. In way of analyzing data, techniques such as tabulation, percentages, chart and the like has been employed. The major findings of the study that women were underrepresented in local power structure, decision making body and political parties. This is mainly due to factors like: lack of equal education opportunity, the historically rooted gender based division of labor. en_US
