Abstract:
Introduction: Client satisfaction has become a substantial indicator to measure the quality of care
provided to clients in the hospitals. It is the perception of care an individual received as
compared to the care expected and thereby the individual evaluate the health care service
delivered to her.
Objective: To assess clients satisfaction and associated factors among clients admitted in
obstetrics wards of public hospitals under Central Gondar Zone
Methodology: An institution based cross sectional study was conducted five public hospitals in
central Gondar zone. Data were collected from February 20, 2020 to April 20, 2020. The total
sample size was 435 and distributed to the wards in five public hospitals proportionally, and then
a systematic sampling technique was applied to select study participants in each hospital. A
structured pre tested interviewer administered questionnaire was used for data collection. The
data were checked for completeness and consistency, then coded and entered to Epi info and then
exported to statistical package for social sciences
Result: The overall rate of client satisfaction was 78.5% at 95% CI
Conclusion and recommendation: The observed rate of satisfaction was good. Participants
residence, admission frequency, privacy, pregnancy plan, fetal and maternal outcome were the
factors associated with study participants satisfaction. Therefore, the regional health bureau
should place emphasis on family planning service to avoid unplanned pregnancy and health care
providers should keep client抯 privacy.
