Abstract:
This study attempts to assess, the cause and consequences of corruption, current status of
corruption and challenges in fighting corruption in BechoWoreda Tulu Bolo Town Land

administration. To this end the research employed mixed approach, which involves both
qualitative and quantitative data gathering tools. The survey was conducted 203 respondents
using multistage cluster sampling. Key informant interview and questionnaires were mainly used
to collect data. The study reveals corruption remains problem in the town urban land
administration sector. Nepotism and bribery corruption are the most common and series
challenge in the town urban land administration. In relation with this the community face
different challenges like poor quality service, conflict, and opposing government policy and
strategy. Giving awareness for community, giving periodic monitoring and evaluation and
participation of community in decision making as well as fighting against is less.
Finally, the researchers provide certain points such as improving system and structures,
ensuring fair distribution of land, participating customers in decision making process, ensuring
transparency and accountability and others which help to minimize the impact of corruption on
urban land administration as well as to fight against corruption on urban land administration.
This are setting system and ways that helps to reduce incident of corruption and ensure effective
and efficient service, use computer, giving awareness, create strong cooperation among
government and other stakeholder, developing anti-corruption strategies, implementing code of
conduct and taking appropriate measure which help to fighting against corruption.
