dc.description.abstract The main objective of this research was to uncover the major stylistic features used in Daniel Kibret’s selected essays in TeterochenaLeloch and YehuletHawultochWegenaLeloch. The targeted essays were selected through purposive sampling. In this study the researcher used stylistic approach as a literary lens to examine the selected essays. The notion of stylistic analysis propagated by Leech and Short was used as a framework. Interpretative analysis was applied to understand and identify deviant devices served in the essays and meaning generated through parallelism, repetition, semantic deviation and figurative language. This study reveals that Daniel’s essays are rich in stylistic features.Daniel through these linguistic deviations on different issues related to Ethiopian people, as he suggests, political development, where all the misleading systems, greedy leaders and individuals must be corrected. And the systems of politics and even individually we must be creative rather than lead by others. Finally, he heavily criticizes the Ethiopians invoking the idea backwardness that honor and respect for our values which have great significance for the society it may be resources and others. en_US
