ABSTRACT
In today’s fast changing business environment and tough global competition organizations are
finding difficult to function at optimum level. Based on this point of view this study is examining the
effect of Employee commitment on Organization performance in the case of Dangote Cement
Ethiopia PLC. Employee Commitment was measured through Affective, Normative and Continuance
commitment dimensions inspire employees to work for the success of the organization Goal. When
the employees feel that the organization is giving importance to them, they will be more committed
to their works. This thing will ultimately enhance to increase the organization performance. The
research approach applied for this study was quantitative approach in nature .The target population
of this study was employees of dangote cement Ethiopia plc at Addis Ababa office and mugher plant.
From191 total populations of the organization, 129 employees were selected as the sample of the
study. The stratified random sampling technique was used to the respondents. Among them 120
employees have returned the questionnaires (i.e. representing 93% of response rate) were analyzed
using Descriptive and Inferential statistics (Correlation analysis and multiple regressions). SPSS20
tool were used to analyze the gathered data. The result of the findings of the study indicates that
employees’ commitment dimensions Affective and Continuance commitment have highly significant
positive effect and Normative commitment has positive relationship but no significant effect on
organizational performance. Therefore, it is recommended that, the company should have to creat &
build trust, to introduce performance bonus, fair & transparent reward system enhance employee
commitment for organizational performance improvement. |
