Abstract:
The sport of volleyball originated in the United States. It was invented by William G Morgan in 1895. The purpose of this study was to survey major problems of volleyball projects in North Gondar Zone. The research was descriptive because it helps to make detailed analysis of existing observable fact with the intent of employing data to justify current conditions. The population consisted North Gondar zone sport process owners, sport administrators, project coaches and project players was selected by using Comprehensive method and trainee families was selected by purposive sampling technique. The study consists of 76 participants. The instruments for data collection were questionnaire, semi- structured interview and observation. I.e. questioner for coaches and project players, semi- structured interview for sport administrators, sport process owner and trainees family. Then the collected data have been analyzed and the major findings spelled out and the data collected from selected subject were analyzed using SPSS version 23 software. Some important points of the study were summarized and the conclusion was drowning from it about major problems of volleyball projects. At the end some recommendations were made for observed major problems of volleyball projects. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage and explanations, so both qualitative and quantitative methods were used. The results were Inefficient Management and Administration of Sport Governing Bodies, Sport Event Organization and Sport Providing Entities in structure the provision of top match training facility, equipment, and coach/project support from federation to grassroots level were found. The projects in general lack of family support and community groundwork. The researcher recommends further investigating the problems of the project with different data gathering instrument. These were the most difficulties that faced to coaches to enhance the players’ achievement.
