Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to show the change and continuity leadership functions of the
Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church leaders in the case of Begemder and Simen province
Despite no new discoveries, the researcher has achieved the following findings. These are
political cultural economical and social findings. Political findings are like administrating
rist gult of the church demarcating territorial limits between echoge gult churches and others
appointing and dismissing gult and church leaders to and from power, naming and renaming
places like churches and monasteries. Cultural findings such as celebrating the holidays like
epiphany, creating religious areas to be attracted by tourists and encorege the development
of religions. Economical findings like economical and infrastructural developments, fighting
against corruption by using resets cards and auditing systems to collect echoge tributes asrat
and payments, creating economic ties between echoge church gult, the people and the
government with the evidence of the witness of church gults, creating jobs and employment
for echoge workers and others. Social findings are traditional medicines, social relation art
and education. In all this part of findings there are also challenges like political economical
and religious challenges faced ehoge church leaders
