dc.description.abstract Background: - Family planning services traditionally targeted women regardless of the fact that men抯 involvement is equally important and childbearing has an impact on men抯 life too. However, male involvement in family planning methods is given less emphasis in Ethiopia. This study was aimed to assess male involvement in family planning and associated factors among currently married men. This could help family planning programmers to develop strategies and maximizing participation of male in contraceptive use. Methods: - A community based cross-sectional study was conducted from March 25-April 25/2018 using face to face interview. A total of 744 currently married men were selected by using systematic random sampling technique from the sub city. Descriptive statistics were done to characterize the respondents using different variables. Both bi-variable and multi variable logistic regressions were performed using SPSS version 20 identify factors associated with male involvement in family planning. P-value less than 0.05 were considered statistical significant. Result: over all 99.6% married male responded to the interview. About 70% of currently married men involve in family planning. Age of men 25-30 Conclusion and Recommendations: Although male involvement in modern contraceptive methods was good even among those respondents, who do not use contraceptives, the reported level of men current contraceptive use was low.
