dc.description.abstract Background: - Providing compassionate and respectful maternity care services during laboring mothers are one of the most important interventions to ensure survival of women. However Compassionate and respectful maternity care has received less attention both in practice and research. Objective:-To assess the proportion of mistreatment and associated factors among women who gave birth at health facility in Gondar city 2019 Method: Institutional based cross sectional quantitative study design was conducted from March 1 - 30/2019 in public health facility. Data was collected using structured questionnaire by face to face exit interview and chart review. Reported mistreatment during childbirth was measured under seven categories using 24 performance indicators. The data were entered using Epi-Info version 7.2 and editing, coding and analysis were done using SPSS version 20. Descriptive statistics, bivariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were done to assess the mistreatment and its determinant factors. Result: A total 584 postpartum women participated in this study with a response rate of 98.3%.The overall proportion of mistreatment was 73.2% with 95%CI en_US
