dc.description.abstract Background: Depression among reproductive age women is a serious and common disorder that can compromise woman抯 health, reduce their quality of life and functional status and may negatively impact pregnancy outcomes. Depression is commonly underrecognized and undertreated in internally displaced persons, immigrants and refugee. Therefore this study was conducted to determine the magnitude and associated factors of depression among reproductive age group women. Objective: The study aimed to assess the prevalence of depression and associated factors among reproductive-age women in internally displaced peoples living in camps in North Gondar Zone, northwest Ethiopia, 2022. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at Debark, Zarima, and Dabat internally displaced people camps. A total of 417 participants were interviewed using Structured administered questionnaire and a simple random sampling thequniqe used for selection participants. Data was entered in to Epi-info 7.4 and SPSS version 26.0 used for cleaning, coding and analysis the data. Descriptive statistics, binary and multivariable logistic regression analyses were carried out. The measure of association used was the odds ratio and statistical tests with p-values of less than 0.05 were considered as statistically significant for depression. Results: With a 417 (100%) of response rate. The prevalence of depression was 51.1% with a 95% confidence interval of (43.9, 53.5%). The odds of depression was higher in reproductive age women having violence (AOR=6.42; 95% CI (3.89�.61)), poor social support (AOR=3.85; 95% CI (1.85�82)), moderate social support (AOR=2.72, 95% CI (1.21-6.12)), and age 25-29 (AOR=0.48, 95% CI (0.23-0.99)). Conclusion: In this study, the prevalence of depression was high compared with general population in Ethiopia. Poor social support, violence and young age were significant factors for depression. A multifaceted intervention such as Gender based education and social support are required to the internally displaces persons.
