units/departments which are the pillar of health centers but not yet investigated
comprehensively. The decision based on poor data quality implies improper
mananagment of health system. In Benishangul-Gumuz region, the data qulity status
and factors associated with data quality not yet studied.
Objective: To assess data quality status and associated factors among selected
health centers of Benishangul Gummuz region, 2019.
Method: Facility based cross-sectional study design was conducted between April
12 and May 24, 2019. Data was collected using pre-tested self-administered

20 was used for result analysis. Binary logistic regression was used to justify factors
for the outcome variable.
Result: All 121 units were evaluated for data quality and all of their respective heads
were responded for the questionier with response rate of 100%. The accuracy,
completeness, and timeliness status were 31.2%, 76.9% and 86% respectively.
Performing data analysis at the unit level and data quality checking skill were
justifiable factors for data quality AOR [8.74:CI(1.44,52.99)] and AOR [4.46:
CI(1.18,16.87)] respectively.
Conclusion: Overall data quality status was below the national target. Perform data
analysis at department level and data quality cheking skill were justifiable factors.
