dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT Background? The amount of time a patient waits to be seen by health professional is one factor which affects utilization of health care services and source of dissatisfaction with the health care explained by patient has to wait a long period of time to get treatment in the Health facility. One of the core problems in Sayint Adjbar Health Center has been long waiting time to getting treatment. With Appropriate interventional strategies, patient waiting time can be reduced significantly and patient’s satisfaction can be increased, likewise, with a shorter time to get treatment. Objective: To reduce patient waiting time to get treatment at the outpatient department of Sayint Adijibar Health Center by the end of August 2016 Method: Pre-post interventional survey was conducted in Sayint Adijibar Health Center and the major areas of study were patient arrival area, registration area and three outpatient clinics. The pre intervention survey was conducted on Monday and Thursday of the 1 st two weeks of May/2016 and final assessment was conducted on Monday and Thursday of the 1 st two weeks of September/2016 using systematic random sampling. Waiting time card, clocks and questioners were used to as a tool to collect data. The pre and post interventional data was interred to SPSS version 16 and were analyzed by independent t-test to measure the effectiveness of the three interventions Result: Overall waiting time to treatment in this capstone project was reduced from 64minute to 41minute, with t (calculated) 7.437and critical value (t tabulated) 1.96 at degree of freedom 238 and p< 0.001 at 95% CI and which has highly significance mean difference Between pre intervention and post intervention due to the effectiveness of the intervention and patient satisfaction by waiting time was increased from 57.5% to 75.8% with p value=0.001 due to the reduction of waiting time by 23 minute. Conclusion: The finding of this capstone project suggests a simple set of intervention can accomplish the desired decrement of the previous long waiting time to getting treatment. Patients waiting time to get treatment was reduced from 64 minute to 41minute with p value < 0.001 due to the implementation of the intervention Recommendation? The Health Center should be practice additional interventional strategies to fulfill the desired patient expectation to wait until their consultation by Health Professionals. en_US
