Abstract:
Labels length of stay as “the bread and butter of the tourism economy”.The purpose of this re search is to examine tourist length of stay and its determinant factors. In this quantitative research
cross-sectional data was gathered from 374 tourists who come to the town of Arba Minch and visit
its tourist destination using convenience sampling technique. The study was descriptive explana tory design and the required data was collected through adapting validated questionnaires from
prior studies and analyzed using both descriptive (frequency, percentage, mean and standard de viation) as well as inferential statistics( Multiple liner regression and pearson correlation coeffi cient) with SPSS version 26 was utilized. The results of pooled ordinary least square regression
analysis revealed that age, gender, nationality, educational level, employment status, purpose,
travel size, travel experience, total travel cost, nature, facilities and services, infrastructure, tour
guide service and political factor were statistically significant effect on tourist length of stay; pos itively predicted and determine length of stay at 1 % significant level. Taking into consideration
of all quantitative identification of determinants of tourist’s length of stay could provide important
guidelines for designing policies aimed at influencing length of stay in Arba Minch twon.
