Abstract:
By using archival, oral and written secondary sources, the thesis gives an analysis of the
biography of Grazemac (later Ras) Wubänh in general and his diplomatic role in particular to
defend his country against the aggressor and the sacrifice paid by the patriots around him in
the period of conventional and guirella war. The genesis and the development of the resistance
under the beginner of grazemac (later Ras), the various engagements that made by grazemac
(later Ras) Wubnäh to defend his region and country, his diplomatic leadership and organization
and the vertical and the horizontal relationship between the patriots are also discussed.
Grazemac (later Ras) Wubnäh’s foriegn diplomatic journey also included in the thesis.
Moreover, the valuable diplomatic role of Grazemac (later Ras) Wubnäh in the home coming of
the emperor, The thesis found that in a series of his diplomatic efforts, Britain and Sudan have
played a key role in supporting Ethiopia's struggle for independence, as well as his role in
rescuing Ethiopian refugees in Sudan from Italian oppression. In particular, he demonstrates his
diplomatic prowess in the patriotic struggle. The thesis also examines the diplomatic effects that Wubnäh contributed to the day after independence.
