Abstract:
Background: - hypertension in Ethiopia is the main cause of mortality and morbidity. It needs
continuous medical follow-up care, self-management and awareness. Telenursing care has
potential contribution for hypertensive patients care as well as reduce hospitalization medical cost
of care. Despite all the benefits, little is known about nurses’ intention to use telenursing care in
Ethiopia. Therefore, this aims of this study assessed nurses’ level of intention to use telenursing
care for hypertensive patient and its predictors among nurses working in public referral hospitals
in Amhara region Northwest, Ethiopia.
Methods: A facility-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 924 randomly selected
nurses working at public referral hospital in Amhara region, northwest Ethiopia 2024. The
Sample size was allocated proportionally based on the number of nurses in each Public Referral
Hospitals in Amhara region. Study participants were selected by using simple random computergenerated
techniques. Data was collected using an interview administered questionnaire methods.
SPSS version 27 was used for further data management and descriptive statistical analysis and
extent of relationship between variables was determined using structural equation model analysis
of moment structures version 23.
Result: -In this study the level of intention to use telenursing care is 55.93 % using (95%: CI:
[52.6–59.1]). more than half of the study participants were intended to use telenursing care
