ensure health equity by creating demand for essential health services through the provision of
appropriate health information at a household level in rural and urban parts of Ethiopia. It aims

done by the UHEP (by Ephrem Lejore Sibamo and Tezera Moshago Berheto, 2015) and
Mothers’ experiences and satisfactions (Zewdie Birhanu, Ameyu Godesso, Yohannes Kebede1
and Mulusew Gerbaba, 2013) in Ethiopia. As a result, this study is planned to assess the level

methods of data collection, will be employed. Quantitative data will be collected from 634
respondents using a structured questionnaire. The study will be conducted in five randomly
selected rural villages. Systematic sampling technique will be used to identify respondents.
SPSS 20.0 Software will be used for quantitative data analysis. Descriptive statistics, bivariate
and multivariate linear regression analyses will be performed. P-value less than 0.05 and 95%
confidence intervals with ß coefficient will be used to determine an association between
independent and dependent variables. As part of Qualitative data collection process, Focus
group discussions (FDG) will be conducted with village health committee members and model
families through having 6-10 people in one focus group discussions until the idea saturated and
the data from FGD will be transcribed verbatim from the tape recorder and transcripts will be
checked for reliability. The data will be analyzed manually by categorizing into different themes

Work plan and Budget: The research will be conducted from December 2015 to April, 2016
and a total of 22126.50 ETB is required to finalizing this research
