dc.description.abstract Background:Nurses who works in the Post-operativedepartment should play a crucial role in postoperative pain management. Nursesshouldhaveasolidfoundation ofpainknowledge anddevelopacorrect attitudetowardspost-operativepainmanagement. Inadequate knowledge and attitude of healthcare professionals are among the barriers to adequate pain managements.A little isknown about theknowledgeandunderstandstheattitudegaps in postoperativepainmanagement by nursesworkingat Assosa&Pawihospitals. Objective:To assessknowledge, attitude and associated factors towards post-operative pain management among nurses in Benshiangul Gumuz regional state, Ethiopia, 2020. Methods:Institution based cross-sectional study was conducted among nurses from February 15, 2020 to March 15 2020 in Benshiangul Gumuz regional state, Ethiopia. All staff nurses working in the general hospitals were included in the study. The Adopted toolwas used for data collection and then after the data checked for its consistency and completeness.It was coded and entered into EPI- INFO version 7.2.2.6 and thenexported to SPSS version 23 for analysis. The magnitude of knowledge and attitude was calculated and described by using frequency and 95% confidence. Bivariate and multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to identify the associated factors of knowledge and attitude. All factors with p-value <0.2 in the bivariable logistics regression were entered into the multivariable logistic model. In a multivariate analysis variable having a P-value less than 0.05 were considered significantly associated factors for attitude and knowledge of nurses. Result:Among the study participant 126 favorable attitude. Presence of journal or internet Conclusion and recommendation: The overall result shows that nurses have good knowledge and favorableattitude related to post-operative pain management.The hospital administration withNurse Managersshould provide training in order to increase their strength inknowledge and Attitudes towards post-operative pain management and the patient will receive a quality of care. .Keywords:Knowledge, Attitude, Nurse, Post-operative pain, Pain management. en_US
