neurologic complications of cancer treatment. Despite this, current evidences suggesting that
Chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy were under-reported, under-diagnosed, and
undertreated in the world. Studies in developing country are lacking. Therefore, this research is
crucial to clearly state its prevalence and to identify the contributing factors of Chemotherapy
induced peripheral neuropathy.
Objective: The main purpose of this study was to assess prevalence and associated factors of
chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy among cancer patients in the oncology unit of the
university of Gondar comprehensive specialized hospital and Felege Hiwot Comprehensive

chart review through trained data collectors. Participants were selected through systematic
random sampling technique. Chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy was assessed
through the European organization of research and treatment quality of life questionnaire. Data
was analyzed using descriptive statistics, binary and multivariate logistic regression methods.
AOR with P value <0.05 with 95% CI was considered statistically significant.
Results. A total of 302 cancer patients were included in this study with response rate100%. The
overall prevalence of Chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy among cancer patients were
37.4 % (
