dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT Background: -Uterine rupture is an obstetrical emergency with serious undesired complications for laboring mothers resulting in fatal maternal and neonatal outcomes. However, there is limited research on prevalence and the factors associated with management outcomes of women with uterine rupture in this Hospital. Understanding the factors associated with management outcomes of uterine rupture managed in UGCSH is crucial to identify gaps and improve maternal health. So, the research expected to address gaps and can be used as a feedback and a baseline study for future researchers. Methods: This is a cross sectional study with retrospective facility-based data collection technique. All women who were managed for ruptured uterus at UGCSH from September 2018 to August 2022 were included. The chart numbers of the women were collected from operation theatre registers, morning report format. Their case folders retrieved from the medical records room for data collection. Using structured questionnaire, information on their socio-demography, booking status, clinical features at presentation, source of admission to hospital, diagnosis on referral and admission was extracted. Data on the intraoperative findings, treatment, and associated complications and outcomes were also collected. The collected data cleaned, coded and entered to epi-data version 4.6.0.0 and exported to SPSS Version 25.0 for analysis. Statistical comparison was done using chi square Results: Total of 195 cases of uterine rupture in the five years period were studied. Forty-two percent discharged without major sequel. Prolonged hospital stay Conclusion: The occurrence of undesired outcomes were high in the study area. en_US
