Introduction:
Number of industries in Ethiopia are increasing drastically due to favorable country’s policy
which has been designed to transform from agricultural based to Industrial based economy
(1).This, indeed, has a great contribution for improvement of quality of life and for the
general country development. However the rising of occupational safety and health problems
will be imminent along with rapid industrialization if scientifically evidence interventions do
not follow to ensure safety and health of workers.
The burden of occupational safety and health problems in most developing countries
including Ethiopia is highly pronounced. But the attention given for employees’ safety and
health has received little (2).
Objectives: The aim of this study is assessment of safety practices and associated factors
among employees of Dashen brewery Sc:
Method: institutional based cross sectional study will be conducted to assess the level of
safety practices and associated factors from January to May 2016, Structured interview -
administer questionnaire will be used to collect information on workers safety practices and
observational checklist will be used to ascertain the safety practices. Sample size of the study
will be 415workers.
Data will be entered using Epi-info version 7 and analyzed by using SPSS version 20.
Frequencies and summary statistics will be used to describe the study population. Binary and
Multiple Logistic Regressions will be used to determine the level and factors of safety
practices.
Work plan: The project will be started at Feb---, 2016within 10 days the data collection
process will be finished and the investigator will finish the remaining tasks up to May --2016.
Budget: 18,817.70 ETB will be the total cost of this research projec
