ABSTRACT
Introduction: - Although the majority of Female Sex Workers are within reproductive age and
at high risk of unintended pregnancy, contraceptive needs of female sex workers other than
condom have not been at the forefront of recent research and public health program agenda.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess non- barrier modern contraceptive method
use and associated factors among female sex workers in Gondar, northwest Ethiopia.
Method: - Community based cross-sectional study design triangulated with qualitative study
was conducted among female sex workers from February to June, 2019. The total sample size
was 541 and purposive sampling was used to select the study subjects. Structured questionnaire
was applied to collect data through interviewing and the data were analyzed using SPSS version
20 statistical software. Qualitative data were gathered through Semi-structured in-depth
interviews and data was coded with ATLASti.7and analyzed using thematic analysis
Result: A total of 517 Female sex workers were interviewed giving response rate of 96%. In this
