dc.description.abstract Abstract Introduction; Vitiligo is an acquired disorder characterized by well circumscribed depigmented macules and patches that result from a progressive loss of melanocytes.Although not fatal, it may considerably influence patients’ health-related quality of life (QOL) and psychological well-being. Objective: To assess the quality of life of vitiligo patients and its associated factors in selected hospital, Ethiopia,2021 .Methodology: A crossectional study was conducted among vitiligo patients in selected hospitals from May- Septemberin 2021.The calculated sample size is 260.all vitiligo patients see at the mentioned time frame where included in the study .The data was collected mainly by residents and dermatologists using Dermatology Life Quality Index tool and questionnaire. data was entered using Epidata version4.6 and analyzed using SPSS Version 20. The results will be shared to UOG hospital, regional health bureau and FMOH. Results:Total of 204 patients with vitiligo participated the majority of respondents (53.9%) were below the age 30 years.The overall mean DLQI Score was 7.35 .The highest DLQI was recorded in “Symptoms and feelings” followed by “ personal relationship ”.Duration of illness was a significantly associated factor with DLQI score, where patients with duration of illness >2years were about 72.7 times increased odds to have a higher DLQI score than those<2 years . Vitiligo patients who did not take treatment had 3.55 increased odds of higher levels of DQLI topatients who take topical treatment. Patients with >20 BSA were involved had 11.2 times increased severity level of DLQI than those with <10 BSA.patient who perceived there disease sever has 3.07 times increase odds of having higher DQLI than who have mild perceived severity.Conclusion and Recommendation:vitiligo has moderate effect on the QoL of majority of the participants .Assessment of QoL should be done to vitiligo patient and manage accordingly. en_US
